I thought I would share with you the Anatomy of a Page post from The Colour Room that I did for my Palette #135 layout :) :) :)

Materials List;

12 x 12 grey board – Imaginarium Designs

Chipboard hearts – Imaginarium Designs

Glimmer Glam [Royal Velvet] - Tattered Angels

Chalkboard Glimmer Mist ]Monolith[ - Tattered Angels

Paper Pen [Magenta] Viva Decor

12 x 12 Template [Flying Geese] – The Crafters Workshop

6 x 6 Template [Mini 4 Flowers] by Julie Fei-Fan Balzer for The Crafters Workshop

Impasto – Mont Marte

Gesso – Krylon

Cotton thread

 Snapshot 1

• ·      Background prepared with using spray gesso to achieve 2 tone effect.
• ·      Dimensional geese created using template and impasto, it is applied with a palette knife.

• ·      Photo edged using black ink to define it against the white background.
• ·      Chipboard heart coloured using the Royal Velvet Glimmer Glam.
• ·      Extra splats of colour [royal velvet glimmer glam and monolith chalkboard glimmer mist]    applied using a small-medium sized paint brush.

• ·      Floral pattern created using mini flower template and impasto, applied with a palette knife.
• ·      Chipboard heart coloured using the Royal Velvet Glimmer Glam.
• ·      Extra splats of colour [royal velvet glimmer glam and monolith chalkboard glimmer mist] applied using a small-medium sized paint brush.
• ·      Pink dots created using Viva Décor paper pen.
• ·      Cotton thread added to create interesting visual interest. Adhered under chipboard elements using quick clear drying glue.
• ·      Organic elements [dried flowers] added to coordinate with and tie in the photo content.

And next my take on the Current Kraft it Up Challenge. It has been so long since I did one of their awesome challenges, I so miss it :) :) :) It would have to be one of my all time favest DT gigs :). It is such an amazing site and its all about the love of Kraft and sharen the passion and Inspiration! 

They have DT Call at the moment, I encourage you to give it a go they are a fabulous team!! I so love the concept :) :) :)

Soooooo what am I teaching?? well I like to think of it as sharen the scrappy passion myself LOL :)

In this workshop I will share with you some of my current favourite techniques for creating unique and individual layout backgrounds; using gesso, tissue paper, mist, and paint! I has used small/proof sized black and white photos, however you are encouraged to bring what ever photos you prefer and create your own individualised layouts. 

The kit and class supplies will provide you with enough product for the completion of 2, 12 x 12 layouts.

The pictures are representative only, of the techniques being demonstrated in the class. The freestyle and arty techniques being demonstrated are exactly that, FREESTYLE, so your results will be different, individual and unique to YOU! I encourage you to embrace your inner freestyler and have a ton of creative scrappy FUN!!!

So what do you need to bring?

Well in addition to a basic kit this :) :) :)

Black Journal pen [your preference, but suitable for writing over mixed media surfaces] 

Black felt tip pen [for example Sharpie] 

Stapler to fit staples size 26/6 [standard office size stapler] If you have a long arm stapler, this is preferred, but not essential. 

Small and medium soft bristle paint brushes

Mouse mat or cork pad 

Paint palate [or disposable plastic plate for use with paint mixing] 

Appropriate protective attire [gesso can not be removed from clothing] 

Paper towel at least 5-8 sheets 

Baby wipes

Heat Gun
