.....On the Road with Saint Motel!

Hello Hello Guys

I would love to share with you a fabulous arty/musical collaboration to celebrate the music of the wonderful Band Saint Motel

Take the time to listen to their music, it is food for your creative soul :) :) :)

The wonderful Vick Chrisman has organised a fabulous blog hop so we share with you our arty takes on the band Saint Motel and their fabulous music.

The Blog Hop Road to travel is:.....

                                                                     Vicki Chrisman
Louise Nelson

For my arty share I decided to take a combination approach of using both my scrapbooking skills and utilising a little bit of photography to help 'Tell the Story' :)
I have used a title/line from a new song called Honest Feedback
their album title 'Voyeur' and the album cover as my inspiration :)

That was such fun and just a bit different to what I am used to doing :) :) :)

Well now it is time for you to hop on over to the amazing Martha Richardson

Cheers and Happy Travels :)

Lou xoxo

Imaginarium Designs :) :) :)

Hello Hello :)

I would like to share with you a couple of layouts that I have created using one of my own Imaginarium chipboard designs :) .....as blogged HERE :) :) :)

I have used the cross hatch as a whole but I usually cut it up in to various odd pieces it is perfectly versatile for that LOL I like to get more bang for my buck LOL :)

Happiness

Imaginarium Designs product;
12 x 12 chipboard background
Cross Hatch
Wishing you Happiness

Other materials;
Tim Holtz; crackle paint, distress ink daubers
Prima Flowers
Gesso

Photo taken by Natalie May

From the close up you can see I have finished the cross hatch chipboard quite simply; I have applied random daubs of gesso with my finger first, allowed it to dry and then painted on the Distress ink.

Other materials;
Tattered Angels Chalkboard Glimmer Mist & Glimmer Mist
Prima Alphas

From the close ups you can see that all I have done is colour the cross hatch chipboard with Tattered Angels glimmer mist. To get the concentration of glimmer I dry it fast with the heat gun and reapply a couple of coats, quickly drying with heat gun in between.

Anatomy of a page :) :) :)

Hello Hello :)

Back again :) I thought I would start doing a little bit of a layout highlight as I have this fabulous online friend who is always asking me to share and or do videos/online classes etc, but Im terribly time poor as a full time shift worker. So my friend Faygie, these are in honour of you and your amazing and generous friendship/feedback :) Oh and I stole the idea from Somerset Memories Magazine :) :) :)

Background

I have used 12 x 12 1.2mm grey board from Imaginarium Designs. I masked of half of the background just with a piece of paper and then using a misting bottle with watered down gesso sprayed along the edge of the paper [to get a sort of straight line lol] and allowed the gesso to run down the board to the bottom edge, and then dryer with a heat gun.

The top half I sprayed with Chalk Chalkboard Glimmermist from Tattered Angels.

Embossed Circles behind photo

I have used Stampendous - aged ivory to adhere it I just sprayed a circle pattern of the watered down gesso, dabbed it with a paper towel but not to much so that it was still damp and then sprinkled on the embossing powder. Shoo off the excess and then heat set with the heat gun.

Embellishing

I have just randomly twirled up some florists vine and attached using staples and a long arm stapler. and then artfully [LOL :P] adhered the feathers in amongst the vine with clear drying gel glue. The Prima leaves and nest were also adhered using the same glue.

The extra little splats of black are watered down Indian ink and I put them on last. I shield my photo and nest with scrap card and then applied the splats with a soft bristle paint bush :)

Well I think thats about it :) there really isn't too much that goes into my layouts LOL :)

Cheers and I hope your having a creative week :)

Jenni Bowlin Studio Summer Games :) :) :)

Did you all see the closing ceremonies last night?  WOW!  Many thanks to those in Great Britain and Londoners especially for all your sacrifices and hard work. It was just WOW!  Amazing!

Now here at JBS Mercantile closing ceremonies aren't for another three weeks, so you still have plenty of time to get in on the action.  The Gold, Silver, and Bronze prize packages are still up for grabs!

Currently we're in the middle of our Swim Medley Relay Event.  Today is the last lap, freestyle!  Of course that means anything goes!  Just make it fun!

To recap:
1. Butterfly - add at least one butterfly to the page
2. Backstroke - add a messy medium to your background
3. Breaststroke - button it up!  add some buttons and/or something that ties
4. Freestyle - anything goes!  just make it fun!

And for the prize package anything goes as well, so before we close up the box to ship it to our lucky winner we'll throw in a big surprise to make it extra exciting.

The prize package:
1. 20 packs of butterflies
2. a set of Jenni Bowlin for Ranger products in a lovely shade of blue
3. 10 packs of buttons
4. a SURPRISE!

Remember!  All entries to the Swim Medley Relay Challenge need to be added to this post:  http://www.jennibowlinstudioinspiration.blogspot.com/2012/08/swim-medley-relay-challenge.html

Happy swimming!  I mean scrapping!  We're cheering you on!

Here is a little of my Jenni Bowlin creative fun :)
