StencilGirl & Lindy's Gang Blog Hop Day 3 :) :) :)

Hello Hello & Welcome! :) :) :)

 Welcome to the

Blog Hop!

Team StencilGirl® and the Lindy’s Gang Design Team are getting creative with
Lindy’s Gang products and StencilGirl® stencils!

And Mary Beth Shaw is hopping along with us!!!

It is now Day 3!!!
Have you been loving all of the totally amazing inspiration so Far?! THREE DAYS
with new projects EVERY day!
HOW FABULOUS!!!

Today I would like to share with you a decorated canvas pencil case. To create the finish on this canvas case I have created a resist embossed pattern and highlighted it with magicals.

Below are the fabulous StencilGirl and Lindy's Gang products I used to create my project :)

Lindy's Gang Frozen Jack Frost Starburst Spray

Mermaid Seashells Shimmer Magicals [Azure Sea Asters]

Purely White Embossing Powder

I have created a few photo collages to help demonstrate how I created the finish on the canvas pencil case.

Begin by sealing the front panel of canvas with a coat of white gesso.
When this is dry apply clear or white embossing ink over stencil onto the canvas.
Apply embossing powder, shake off excess.
Heat set embossing powder with heat tool.

Mist the embossed surface with Starburst spray.
Sprinkle on a light coat of Magicals powder along top edge.
Gently mist the powder allowing it to dribble down the embossed surface.
Then with your finger spread and blend the magicals powder with the mist over the embossed surface of the canvas.

Using another piece of canvas recreate the same stencil pattern using the Starbust mist as depicted above.
Remove stencil and whilst mist is still wet sprinkle on some more magicals powder.

Heat dry/set the magicals and starbust spray pattern, then cut out the centres of the flowers.
Adhere/glue small crochet flowers to patterned canvas in the centre of the stenciled flowers.
Then glue the cut out canvas circles to the centre of the crochet flowers.

Mix a very small amount of the magicals powder with some water and use it to colour the white crochet flowers.
Then using a wet baby wipe blend and tone the colour.
When this has dried stitch on some large coordinating buttons with embroidery cotton to the centre of the flowers.

And here are 2 close up images :)

StencilGirl and & etchall Blog Hop :) :) :)

Hello Hello :)

Welcome to the StencilGirl and etchall Blog Hop :) :) :)

Today  I would like to share with you some of my creative fun using the etchall on stones and a slate paver to create some fun decorated rocks to use in my plant potting [I am a huuuuuge cactus and succulent fan/collector}.

These are the rocks I decorated using the etchall with the fabulous StencilGirl stencil [below image]. I plan on using these in my cactus pots, I have a couple I need to repot so I am on the look out for pots that are a little more grungy looking to match the stones.

This wonderful Swallows stencil was designed by Tracie Lyn Huskamp >>> HERE

...and here are some close ups of the etched stones :)

I have included a couple of photo collages of process photos so that you can get an idea of just how simple the process was for decorating these rocks. To ensure that the stencil adhered to the curved rock I applied adhesive quite liberally with a tape runner to the underside of the stencil, then applied it to the rock.

When the stencil was adhered evenly I then applied the etchall cream using a palette knife. I left this to work for about 15 minutes, removed the stencil and then rinsed off the etchall cream with water. I cleaned up my stencil using orange oil to remove the adhesive and a wet wipe.

Just as an extra lil bit of fun I planted up a fun planter bowl using a slate paver that I had etched a swallow onto. I am on the look out for some charcoal-black stones to place in the planter to compliment the look and complete it. I plan on keeping these succulents clipped [a little like Bonsai]

I do hope that you have enjoyed this fun creative share?! Please do hop onto the next fabulous designer listed above !

Oh and don't forget to play along for the fabulous GIVEAWAY

These are the set I was lucky to get to create with, and I chose the inspiration card Journal with a permanent pen or marker.

I had so much fun embellishing a canvas pencil case using the 'Large Bubbles' Stencil designed by Patricia Baldwin Seggebruch.

...and here are some close ups; especially of the journaling [speech bubbles], that I created using a black Signo gel pen.

The next 2 images are collages of step-out photos; just to give you an idea of how I created the image on the pencil case.

I used my fave 'go-to' Posca paint pens to draw and colour in my ladies.

Well that is it from me please hop to the next fabulous team member for today; Torrie :) :) :)
