I was just wanting to share a little wonderfulness that came my way :)

Last year Dark Room Door had a DT call. Dark Room Door is one of Australia's fabest art rubber stamp and photographic papercraft product specialist manufacturer's!!! In fact this company is multi award winning!!! I was so so very honoured to be invited to guest for this amazing company, owned and run by the multi talented Rachel Greig.

Plain Jane comprises of Simply Sheer, Baseboard and Stained Glass paint products

Here are a few projects that I created to showcase these awesome new Plain Jane products :) :) :)

Using one of the fabulous 12 x 12 Canvases from Canvas Corp :) :) :)

OMGosh the effect of Simply sheer on my background here is so much more delish IRL :)

I attended a fabulous retreat in Byron Bay last year and whilst I was in Byron I visited a local art gallery! Whilst I was there I signed up for their newsletter so I get updated on new artists and their work which obviously is for sale!! But the bonus for me is the amazing inspo!!!

Hi Guys

This is a bit on an emotional post :). Recently I was asked by this wonderful creative; Kate Palmer if I would mind if she featured me in a series of blog posts she was doing! As always I am over the top honoured and always more that a little gob-smaked that people want to do this sort of thing IYKWIM!!

Annnnnny way when I read what Kate had posted and saw the layouts she chose, [I am always surprised at which of my layouts chose or prefer, more often that not they are the ones that I think people will turn their nose up at LOL] I was literally speechless and a little teary! When you are passionate about stuff, and its is a very personal thing it always always touches my heart in a way that I can't verbalise!!! THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH Kate Palmer!!!

Which brings me to the last layout Kate posted!

This has and always will be, my Allllll time favourite layout using Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist!! There is nothing artistically that makes it stand out from any other or makes it more special! but from a 'heart' perspective it has quite illogically always represented in my mind what i love about Scrapbooking, Family/Friends and LOL using Glimmer Mist!

As I start 2012 off this post has reminded me about what is GOOD! about the Scrapbooking Industry, and that is .......... IMHO, the Passion that people have for their art/craft!! Passion for creativity, the Passion for sharing, Passion for their life friendships and relationships, the Passion for Documenting their lives!! and the Passion for not wanting to forget!!!!!!!!

Thank you to both Kate Palmer and Tattered Angels for making the start of 2012 one that I won't for get!!!! EVER!!!! :)

Back again to share my A Lil' Somethin' Creativity

To celebrate the New Year and my gratitude to Wendy and Susan for honouring me by asking me to be A Lil' Somethin' Ambassador I have created a layout that features not only some fabulous ALS product but my word/s for 2012,..... thank you!

I used one of the pins from this, I have also used the doily but that is on another project for another DT so keep and eye out for it :) :) :)

I used a piece of the lace from this selection and coloured it using a Copic marker with the Air brush System :)

I used the green string flower from this selection, and as you can tell from the close ups I kinda 'distressed' it a little :) :) :)

Well Well who would have thought LOL, I know I didn't!!! Not that I ever let that stop me from trying every year for the past 6 years LOL :). I am absolutely gobsmacked that I actually made it!!! and that would be for a variety of reasons!! that I won't go into here; but those of you who know me, know what I mean :) :) :)

For my wonderful OS blogger visitors, I will give a little explanation. Every year Australia's premier Scrapbooking Magazine 'Scrapbooking Memories' runs a competition to find a new design team of what they call their 'Masters'. They also have a 'Creative Design Team' that is by invitation, Which I was honoured to have been asked to join for 2009. Every year hundreds of Australian creatives enter, and out of those, 10 are chosen and asked to join the team of Scrapbooking Memories Masters, and contribute to the magazine for a 12 month period. It is for the 2012 team that I have been lucky enough to be selected for.

There was a huuuuge flurry of activity on Facebook yesterday as most of the team members revealed themselves; it was rather wonderful and very very exciting!!!!

There were many many moments throughout the day when I was in tears, and very overwhelmed by the emotion that came from reading the comments of people sending me their congratulations and heartfelt love! It was an amazing day and one that I will never forget! An amazing scrappy mate did say to me that there would be many many people out there who would be happy for me; but I must confess I was disbelieving! Seriously! But She was right! I was and am completely gobsmaked at the response I got when I revealed I was a Master!!

I can't find the right words, other than,........THANK YOU! From the bottom of my scrappy heart! to all you wonderful creatives for your comments and love!!!!!

Ive been a little emotional this last couple of days as a mate is going thru a recurrence of her cancer. Today she visited her Oncologist and has got the low-down, and a 'treatment plan'!!

One of the most amazing things I have always admired about Janet from the very first moment I met her was her 'Out there Bravery' and 'Strength'. It defies emotional logic STS. She is Truly incredible!!

I am so blown away by her and her Bravery, and her Strength, and fighting Spirit that I made it the topic of one of my Scrapbooking Memories Masters Layouts [the entry for journaling/ephemera] I had actually hidden the journaling as it was a little too private and heartfelt for me to share. I promise to share it when I know one way or the other if it is a HM or not!

I also dedicated another layout to her bravery for my first layout to be published in Scrap365, which I will be able to share soon.

Janet you know I couldn't find the words when we spoke the other night but you also know that I can create around what I feel for you!!!

You are in my heart and my prayers!!

Just letting you know that my next class will be at Seriously Scrapbooking, Saturday 26th November, from 1-30 - 4.00. The class will be technique focused where I will demonstrate 2 you, 2 simple stamp making techniques.

What to Bring?

Your Basic Kit plus;

Your fave supplies embellies, alphas etc just like you would on a crop night, and some photos. The kit will contain the basics for stamp making, but to create a layout, card etc you will need to bring your own stash, and or buy at the shop [remember you get a discount on the day :)].

We are looking for Australian and International, talented Scrapbookers that can work magic with Imaginarium Designs chipboard.

We are looking for artists who create Scrapbook Pages, Cards, Mixed Media Projects, Off the Page Projects plus LOVE what they do!

Hello Hello Guys :)

I often get asked what my studio looks like. I usually say its not pretty, and that I rarely show photos of it! So whats made me change my mind??? well Im not sure, but Ive kinda figured I am never going to have the studio of my dreams, and when you are in rented accommodation it is even harder. So with that in mind I set about spring cleaning, part of it LOL :). This is my 'spray booth' my arty area! I think it used to be a walk in pantry [the house I am in is very old].

If you look down in the bottom left hand corner of this pic you will see my air compressor for my Copic and air gun attachments. Natalie Mays amazing husband organised and put this together for me! Trev Rokz!!!!!

These black drawers are a bit of a fave for me, they are cheap and fit in with my woodgrain, black and red theme :) I have them all through out my studio in different configurations. They are just from the Discount store.

I was lucky to pick up the Tattered Angels racks second hand,...with the signs :) :) :)

This will be the cleanest it will probably be for a looooong time :) :)

Hello Hello its me again LOL :)

I just wanted to share with you my Imaginarium Designs creativity for October. Using one of my fave colour combos at the moment and the most delicious Imaginarium butterflies :)

With the butterflies Ive just smeared them in white gesso [with my fingers] and then given them a light mist with Tattered Angels Chalkboard Glimmer Mist - Grape Ape :) The Red mist is Studio Calico :)

Also I just wanted to mention the brand of gesso I use, as I was asked by a reader recently, I just use the Mont Marte brand, it comes in a big tub and is reasonably priced [which is a good thing considering how much I use LOL], and the title is written using Sumi Ink [any that I can find :)] and a pen & nib :) Most other journaling I do is usually with a Uni Posca paint pen or Signo pen.

Tatum has organised for me to come and spend the day with her and her creative friends for a creative feast of teaching and creating!!! There will be lots of techniques; stamp making, misting and making our own masks, photo transfer techniques, collaging, drawing and stamping, etc etc, generally we will spend the day playing and creating in our art journals :) :) How fabulous does that sound?!!!!!!!

Hello Hello Guys :)

What did you get up to over the weekend???

When I wasn't working I did a little blog hop hop hoppppping! specifically I did The Crafters Workshop blog hop, which I found when I went to visit Julie's blog.

Soooo I got all inspired to play with my TCW's masks; the result is a little grungy type scrapping :) :) :) I used some scrap 12 x 12 backing from some PP pads, as backgrounds, did my masking and misting, and then put a gesso wash over the top. I must say I really rather like the effect :)

Love me a little freehand wire frame creating tooooo :)

As you can see from these last 2 layouts I used some fabulous Hambly Studio's overlay :) :) :)

Hi Guys

Don't you just luuuurve the start of the month!! I know I do; loots fabulous challenge site inspiration for the mojo!! And goodness knows I need it at the moment!! I hadn't scrapped for about 6 weeks and when I tried to get back into it I was almost numb with a lack of mojo!!!

I think Im finally starting to get my eye in, I scrapped about 6 layouts over the weekend and I finally feel like Ive got my eye back sts, and the mojo is starting to finally flo :)

This month I was lucky enough to get to set the criteria for 123 Challenge and I also did a mini SBS of sorts which I will load up on my Workshops blog asap :)

Are you on any other Creative Team Blog Challenges? Which ones? Not at the moment coz I am away on holidays but I hope to get right back into it by the end of September :)
What else are you involved in creatively and how/where/when did you get involved?
What other types of creative stuff Welllllllllll I do create for one of the most amazing and in MHO THE BEST Design Teams to be on in Australia and that is the Australian Wholesaler Aussie Scrap Source!!! I consider it an honor and just the most amazing buzz to be on this amazing team!! The calibre of creatives on this team is mindblowing!! And I just have to say that creating for Cheryl Chris and Suz it just the best gig!!!! I think I have been creating for Aussie Scrap Source for about 3 years now!! {If I say nice things then hopefully Suz will continue to give me the mist and stamp breifs!!!! LOL} :) :) :)

I also create for one of the most amazing Chipboard manufacturers in Australia!!! IMAGINARIUM DESIGNS!!! I cannot begin to tell you how fabulous, generous and supportive Jane is to her team, and especially me. I think there is always something special about manufacturers and wholesalers who arent scared to take on and keep a creative who is just a little bit outside the square!!!!!

What are you working on at the moment?
Well not a whole lot LOL I am away on holidays at the moment I have been traveling around the US with stops in New York, Washington, Orlando, Miami, Niagra, Toronto [for an hour or two lol], Las Vegas, San Fanciso and next will be Santa Monica before Flying home :) Here is a link to my photo blog if you would like to see some photos of my trip so far :)

As you can appreciate this is a trip of a life time for me! Iam turning the big 50 this year so it was a bit of a pressie to clebrate getting old LOL :(!!!

One of the higlights was spending 4 weeks in New York. I did lots of amazing things in this time; 2 especially fabulous things were going to the Museum of Modern Art [MOMa], and catching up with Julie Fei-Fan Balzer!! An amazing and fave creative. I caught up with Julie a few times, the first was at MOMa, then again for a craft afternoon, and then again for a quite creative day [Oh Bliss LOL :)]

So with that in mind Ill share a couple of photos of my creative day with Julie and some of the pages out of my travel journal. They are fairly simple in style as you can see, that is me!! LOL and I had to pack light. If you are interested in what I bought with me for my journaling take a gander at my photo blog I included a pic in one of my first NYC posts :) :) :)

This would be Julie leaning back and and asking if I thought her canvas needed anything else, my comment was,.... your asking me? the minimalist????? LOLOL :)

Hi Guys

One of the things I was really hoping I could do when I came to New York was to meet up with Julie Fei-Fan Balzer. I have admired and stalked her and her creativity/blog for quite some time, [about 4 years]. A while ago it came as quite a shock/surprise to find that she had found my blog and liked my stuff enough to mention me in one of her blog posts. So you could say we had a kind of mutual art appreciation thing happening LOL :)

I messaged Julie prior too coming to the US with the hope of being able to meet her face to face. LOL I wasnt sure what I would say etc, but she was very much a creative I so admired and I wanted to tell her so, and to also just have that opportunity of meeting her F2F.

Well as you can see I got that opportunity :) and it has been one of the highlights of my stay in New York. I also got to create along side her [but I will save that for another post] I also got meet some of her fab creative friends at a creative afternoon [Julie blogs about it here].

I did actually try to take a normal photo of Julie but she keeps pulling faces LOL :)

I also had the pleasure of meeting Julies lovely creative and talented friend Kelly Purkey.

I am sure I am not the only one who has these kinds of scrappy dreams/goals [meeting your creative idols F2F], but if are like me you kinda put them on the back burner or too hard list LOL. Well dont Guys!!! I bit the bullet and asked, and it happened, maybe you should too :)

Teaching at Seriously Scrapbooking 24.09.2011 :)

Hi Guys

Just letting you know what my next class at Seriously Scrapbooking is and what you will need to bring along.

It is a technique based class focusing on using wire and vellum in different ways.
If you have them please bring along; a stapler and a pair of wire cutters, along with your basic kit.
Bring along whatever photo you prefer to use on the day, my sample layout has used a small 5 x 8 colour photo [which is at the shop if you would like to chek it out] :)
Session date and time; Saturday 24 September 2011 from 1000 to 1230.
